Is anyone familiar with the Cambridge parking lots along Bishop Allen and Prospect that were free on nights and weekends? They are now posted as permit only 24/7. I'm just curious if the city has released any other information about why or when the decision was made. Google didn't really help. I don't really understand it because I think the lots made it a lot easier for people to visit businesses in the square because metered parking is so scarce.

Yeah, it looks like they're leaving the gates closed 24/7 as of yesterday. Too bad, these were great "secret" lots for evenings and weekends - but I agree, it was always a little weird that they ever allowed others in. Green Street Garage isn't too pricey, at least?

Green Street Garage is relatively cheap at $1.50/hour. For dinner and a show: 4 hours is approximately $6.00.
