my beloved rasta moped was stolen from the locked courtyard at 82 jersey street in the fenway area late last week. the moped was also locked to a secure bike rack.
the thief took the moped, her thick black plastic texturized cover, and the broken lock, as well as a sheet with my name and number on it that i kept tied to her luggage rack when parked.
here is the moped in question
if you see this moped ANYWHERE please throw a lock on it if you can and contact me immediately, my email is brightlikesunshineatgmaildotcom. i can also email you my phone number if you inhabit seedy areas of town frequently.
she was registered with the rmv and a police report has been filed with the d-4 section of the bpd.
everybody just keep a lookout please, she is green and red and yellow and pretty noticeable even to people who aren't into mopeds. she is the ONLY moped of this color scheme around boston, i promise. she has a black square headlight, had a red bandanna and a nine of spades playing card tucked onto her left handlebar, and a peace sign magnet on her left sidecover. broken speedo/3 miles on odometer/and mostly she has wicked bad brakes (i was replacing the brake pad soon). she has the remains of a december registration sticker on her back fender. 1979 columbia commuter.
she is an original shriner's moped and her sentimental value is intense and i am in pieces over this. we were in parades (were in the honk parade last week, i pedaled her with the bicycles), we went to moped rallies, and i rode her almost every day to work and class, over 1000 miles since june. i am absolutely devastated and this was basically the only moped in the world for me :(
$300 reward for her safe return. srsly no questions asked.
