The Bisexual Resource Center (BRC) envisions a world where love is celebrated, regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression. Because bisexuals today are still misunderstood, marginalized and discriminated against, the BRC is committed to providing support to the bisexual/pansexual & queer-identified community and raising public awareness about bisexuality and bisexual people.

The BRC needs one or two unique, forward thinking, energetic interns to help with the following:

▼ Event Planning: assist with the planning of summer and fall community events, including Celebrate Bisexuality Day in September;

▼ Volunteer Coordination: assist with getting community members involved with various activities including events and fundraising;

▼ Product Management: assist with fulfilling orders and updating inventory;

▼ Pride: assist with organizing the bisexual contingent for Boston Pride, preparing materials for the BRC Pride Booth and coordinating volunteer coverage of activities.

The internship is unpaid, however independent study credits can be arranged with your advisor. This position is for ten (10) hours per week, May-August 2011 and can be built around your availability. The BRC office is located at 29 Stanhope Street , right near the Back Bay Station on the Orange Line. Some of the internship time will be spent at the office; some tasks might be able to be done from your home.

Applicants should have the following: strong organizational ability; ability to take initiative and work independently; good writing communication, and people skills; flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of task; and a sense of humor!

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to Ellyn Ruthstrom at president (at) biresource (dot) net

Please Note: The Bisexual Resource Center (BRC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization headquartered in Boston MA and provides education about bisexual and progressive issues and support for bisexual people worldwide. Bisexual is an an umbrella term for all people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender, (i.e. pansexual fluid, ambisexual, omnisexual hetro/homo flexible, queer-identified, no-labels, et. al.). BRC celebrate and affirm the diversity of identity and expression regardless of label (or lack there-of) an individual chooses to use. And it goes without saying that people of all genders/genders expressions, ethnic, religious, racial and political backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
