Flat Earth Theatre announces open auditions for "Rossums Universal
Robots" By Karel Capek to be held Thursday, November 20th from 7-9 PM
and Saturday, November 22nd from 2-4 PM at the Arsenal Center for the
Arts (321 Arsenal Street in Watertown). Additional times are available

Written in 1920, R.U.R. was the first literary work to use the word

robots who have been created to perform menial labor. However, when the
robots become displeased with their subjugated status in the world, they
hatch a plan to destroy their human creators. The play calls for a total

cold-read selections from the script. Rehearsals will be held mainly in
the evenings beginning the week of December 1st.

The play will be presented January 23rd - 31st, 2009 at the Arsenal
Center for the Arts. For more information, contact
